Everyone is talking about taxing the rich to get more money in health insurance, putting surcharges on so called cadillac plans, making it mandatory for everyone to take …

How much do you use Twitter?

Apr 29, 2009
I signed up for Twitter a long time ago (March 2007 to be exact), used it for a few days, realized its fun but useless and stopped using it. Since then, twitter has had an exponential growth, and specially exploded in the last few months. However, unlike Facebook or YouTube (to which twitter is being compared with) I don’t find it sticky or interesting enough on a regular basis. A recent report by …

How to repeat success

Apr 27, 2009
Being the first few employees at YouTube and responsible for building a slew of YouTube features and heading the mobile efforts, I often get asked on the thought process that goes behind building something that can be wildly successful. Below are a few of my thoughts on this: Do: Build a product that solves a complete problem, not just a part of it Think long term, execute short term. Have a clear …

Everyone has started to provide (really good) server based services, whether its for your contacts, documents, email, pictures, storage and even the more niche things like your browser favorites, your search history, things like notes, snippets, your friends and their friends. Most of the companies providing these services have …

Listening to internet radio on the go

Oct 3, 2007
I finally decided to make use of the fancy Symbian S60 phone to listen to internet radio (shoutcast) while on the go. We have fast 3G connections, so there should be no reason to tie up with the computer to listen to internet radio. After a few hours of effort, I got the S60 Internet Radio to work. Here is a link to the wiki with instructions on getting it. I had to figure out some stuff, but have …

Custom Search Engine - Indian Guitar Chords

Sep 29, 2007
I decided to play around with Google’s Coop search, and created a Indian Guitar Chords search engine. You can check it out here. It does allow people to collaborate and add more sites to it, which is pretty interesting. Hopefully the quality of this search engine will improve as more specific sites get added to the list. Comments None (October 21, 2007): great job ! I will also contribute to it. …
